We are now looking for meal service staff for one of our preschool kitchens within the newly formed Food Services Unit in Norberg Municipality. Here, you will become an important part of the work to create a pleasant dining environment for our youngest guests.
The Role and Responsibilities
The role includes preparing breakfast, preparing for and serving lunch, and serving snacks. Salads and various side dishes are prepared for lunch. The lunch meals are delivered from our production kitchen at Engelbrektsskolan between 04:00–09:00.
The preschool serves approximately 60 lunch portions per day and has three departments.
Other tasks included in the role:
- Handling dishwashing
- Maintaining daily cleaning routines in the kitchen
- Handling special diets
- Working with self-control (digital program)
- Purchasing food and consumables
- Receiving deliveries
- Administrative work
- Occasional work with children in the afternoon
Your Qualifications and Competencies
We are looking for you who have education in kitchen work and several years of experience working in a kitchen. You need good knowledge of food hygiene. Good oral and written skills in Swedish are required for the position.
Good knowledge of special diets is considered an advantage.
As a person, you are flexible and adapt easily to changing circumstances. You can quickly adjust your mindset and work style and see opportunities in change. You collaborate well with others and relate to people in a sensitive, smooth, and professional manner. By listening, communicating clearly, and handling potential conflicts constructively, you contribute to a good collaborative climate.
In your interactions, you are calm, attentive, and accommodating, with a clear service focus. You have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others and strive to deliver solutions. In your work, you plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks efficiently. You set and keep timeframes. At the same time, you are creative and are happy to come up with new ideas and approaches to work-related issues, with a forward-thinking mindset that can be put into practice and leads to results.
