Gazella is currently looking for a Financial Controller for an exciting scale-up company in central Stockholm. In this role, you will take overall responsibility for the finances of the international companies and work closely with the Head of Finance.

Your challenge

As a Financial Controller, you will play a key role in building a scalable and automated finance function in a growing international group. You will take overall responsibility for operational finance, including month-end closing and consolidation.

• Responsible for month-end closing and group close for the group's companies in Sweden, the UK, Germany, and the USA
• Ensure correct intercompany reconciliations, currency management, and data for group consolidation
• Deliver quality-assured financial reports and analyses to the Head of Finance
• Drive efficiency and automation of accounting and closing processes together with the Accountant
• Identify and implement improvements in areas such as reconciliations, recurring entries, FX management, and system integrations
• Act as the main contact for external accounting firms and follow up on quality and deliveries
• Responsible for compliance, local reporting, and monitoring of regulatory deadlines in the group's companies
• Manage and coordinate global payroll and EOR processes, including onboarding/offboarding and system integrations
• Responsible for treasury-related tasks such as payments, bank administration, and approval workflows
• Drive and coordinate audit processes for all companies together with external auditors and the Accountant

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, or similar
• At least 2 years of experience from companies with international subsidiaries
• Good understanding of group accounting in international environments with multiple companies and currencies according to K3. IFRS is an advantage.
• Experience with NetSuite
• Very good skills in Excel and/or Google Sheets
• Understanding of intercompany transactions such as eliminations, currency conversion, transfer pricing flows
• Fluent in Swedish and English
• Advantageous with experience from marketplaces, ad platforms, or similar digital platforms.
• Advantageous with experience of Deel or similar EOR systems

Personal qualities

To thrive in this role, you are a practical person who works well in a scale-up environment where structures are still being developed and shaped. You have a natural drive for improvement and a clear interest in streamlining ways of working, especially by reducing manual tasks in financial processes. You are happy to take overall responsibility and are used to working independently with the ability to prioritize without extensive supervision. At the same time, you are communicative and confident in collaborations with both internal and external parties, even in an international context.
