About the role

We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor/Cost Estimator with solid experience (at least 5 years) in the construction industry for one of our clients in Stockholm.

We are looking for someone who can handle projects in Handyday, Tensight, and/or Komers.

The workplace is located in Liljeholmen, central Stockholm.

Your duties as a Quantity Surveyor include creating detailed estimates for construction and civil engineering projects, which includes calculating costs for materials, labor, and time consumption. The role involves evaluating and presenting results to ensure the profitability and quality of projects.

Education and experience in construction technology are required, as well as good knowledge of estimation software and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Create estimates: Prepare basic estimates for various projects, which may include calculating material usage, time consumption, and personnel costs.
• Proficient in using the Bidcon estimation program.
• Competent in Word, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• Evaluate and present: Responsible for follow-up and evaluation of estimates, as well as presenting results to project managers.
• Handle tenders: Respond to incoming inquiries and prepare complete tenders, often in collaboration with suppliers, customers, and colleagues. Sales-oriented skills when contacting new clients are a plus.
• Law and contracts: Work with construction law and have a good understanding of administrative requirements in request documents and contracts, such as AMA AF.
• Interpret drawings: Read and interpret drawings and technical descriptions. Knowledge of materials, construction processes, and drawing comprehension (including Fu documentation) is required.

Qualifications

• Education and experience: Relevant engineering degree or equivalent documented experience from the construction industry is required. Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Site Manager, or Foreman is meritorious. You must have worked in this field for at least 5 years and have good references.
• Technical knowledge: Good knowledge of construction technology, materials, quality, and environment.
• Software: Very good knowledge of relevant estimation programs and MS Excel is necessary.
• Personal qualities: Structured, analytical, and business-minded with the ability to find cost-effective solutions. You must be self-reliant, have your own drive, and be able to drive forward the work of the estimation department with reconciliations.
• Languages: Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required.

Our client offers a pleasant workplace with skilled colleagues at Liljeholmskajen in Stockholm. The construction projects are located around Sweden. You will have a fixed monthly salary and be part of the client's bonus program.

Working hours are daytime Monday-Friday, but some work may occur at other times in connection with project deadlines.

This is a recruitment position, meaning you will be directly employed by our client with an initial 6-month probationary period.
