Do you want to help create the conditions for people to live an independent and secure life? As a benefits caseworker at the Care Unit in Söderhamn Municipality, you will have a meaningful and varied job where you make a difference every day. We welcome your application!
Your Role
Here, you will become part of a competent and supportive team where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a good work climate are a natural part of everyday life. You will have your own office and work closely with colleagues, management, and specialist functions within public administration, creating good conditions for quality, development, and job satisfaction.
We work according to IBIC (Individual Needs at the Center), a structured and needs-oriented approach that contributes to legally secure assessments and clear documentation. As a benefits caseworker, you play a central role in investigating, assessing, deciding on, and following up on interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL).
In this role, you will meet people in various and often complex life situations, where you build trusting and professional relationships. You investigate and assess needs for home care services, care and nursing homes, day activities, and other individually adapted support measures. The work involves making independent, legally secure, and well-reasoned decisions, as well as following up on approved interventions to ensure that the support meets the individual's needs over time.
You collaborate closely with relatives, service providers, healthcare, and other internal and external actors to create cohesion, continuity, and quality in the interventions. Here, you have the opportunity to combine qualified public administration with close and meaningful work that contributes to people's security, independence, and quality of life.
Description of the Workplace
The Care Unit is part of the Welfare Support Authority Department within the Welfare Sector. The department also includes the Social Assistance Unit and the Adult Unit. At the Care Unit, an engaged team of benefits caseworkers, LSS caseworkers, housing coordinators, specialists, and the unit manager work together to ensure legally secure assessments and high-quality support measures.
The Welfare Sector has approximately 1,100 employees who meet people in different life situations every day. The operations include, among other things, care and nursing homes, home care, home healthcare, LSS activities, social psychiatry, addiction centers, and social assistance. Together, we work to create security, participation, and good living conditions for the municipality's residents.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or another higher education qualification that the employer considers equivalent and that has given you good knowledge of social law, administrative law, and social work. You have a good understanding of public administration and experience in investigating, assessing, documenting, and following up cases. The work places high demands on legal security and quality, which means you need to have good knowledge of current legislation, primarily the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Administrative Procedure Act. You express yourself very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have the ability to document clearly, correctly, and in a legally secure manner.
As a person, you are confident in your professional role and can make decisions independently and act based on professional assessments. You have a good attitude and are easily able to build trusting relationships. Since the work involves many contact surfaces, it is important that you collaborate well with others, communicate clearly, and contribute to constructive solutions even in challenging situations. You are structured and have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently while handling changes and meeting set deadlines.
It is meritorious if you have experience working as a benefits caseworker and/or LSS caseworker. Experience with the Lifecare system and work according to IBIC (Individual Needs at the Center) is also considered meritorious.
Since travel is part of the position, a Category B driver's license is required.
We process applications on an ongoing basis, so do not wait to submit your application.
