Are you our new colleague in the kitchen at Strömnässkolan?

We are looking for you who enjoy providing good service, serving high-quality food, have strong collaboration skills, and possess experience working in a kitchen. You will work closely with a colleague and rotate between various tasks. In addition to kitchen duties, the role includes daily cleaning of the school cafeteria.

The kitchen at Strömnässkolan is a finishing kitchen that serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks. The school has approximately 160 students.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include finishing and serving the day's lunch options, as well as preparing and serving breakfast and snacks. A varied and seasonal salad buffet, side dishes, and options adapted for children with special dietary needs are prepared daily for lunch. When planning and preparing the salad buffet, breakfast, and snacks, you will have the opportunity to use your creativity and vary the menu.

You will be responsible for safe food handling, self-control checks, good hygiene, dishwashing, and kitchen cleaning. The position also involves ordering food from the production kitchen and placing orders for goods via the municipality's e-commerce system. In addition to food and dairy products, cleaning supplies, disposable materials, chemicals, etc., are ordered.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience working in a kitchen.

You should have a restaurant education at the upper secondary level or equivalent education deemed suitable by the employer, and/or documented experience as a cook or meal service staff in a large-scale kitchen or restaurant. You must have sufficient knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, to handle tasks safely in a large-scale kitchen. Good computer skills and familiarity with the programs used in the work are meritorious, as is experience with cleaning. Kitchen work is physically demanding and sometimes heavy, requiring good physical fitness.

You have good knowledge of:

• Finishing and cooking
• Raw materials
• Special diets
• Hygiene and self-control
• Large-scale kitchen equipment
• Ergonomic work

We are looking for someone who finds it rewarding to meet people. You are cheerful, positive, and aim to provide excellent service to our customers. You are flexible, responsible, and willing to help where needed. You enjoy collaborating and brainstorming with a colleague. In daily work, you interact with both educators and children, where a good attitude is essential.

Holiday substitute position Monday–Friday, full-time equivalent 40 hours/week.

Probationary period may apply.

Employment at the Meal Service requires a certificate of good conduct (extract from the police record).
