The kitchen at Pitholmsskolan is currently a final preparation kitchen serving lunch to approximately 550–600 students and staff in grades 4–9. A renovation of the kitchen into a full cooking kitchen is underway and is expected to be completed in autumn 2026. We are looking for you who are passionate about cooking, provide good service, have strong collaboration skills, and have experience working in a kitchen. You will be part of a team of three, with rotation between tasks. In addition to kitchen work, daily cleaning of the school cafeteria is included.

The meal service assignment is to produce and deliver nutritious, quality-assured, and tasty meals to the municipality's core operations. We do this with ethical and environmental values, in a professional manner and to the right quality.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include preparing and serving various daily lunch options and preparing a varied, seasonally adjusted salad buffet for the school's students and staff. The meal service also offers a selection adapted for children with special dietary needs.

In the work team, responsibility is shared for safe food handling, self-control, good hygiene, dishwashing, and cleaning of the kitchen and cafeteria. The work also includes ordering special diet food from the production kitchen and ordering goods via the municipality's e-commerce system. In addition to food and dairy products, cleaning supplies, disposable materials, and chemicals are also ordered. Current agreements and the approved budget must be followed. Daily work involves dialogue with both educators and students; therefore, good customer service is of great importance.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a restaurant education at the upper secondary level or equivalent education deemed suitable by the employer, and/or documented experience as a cook in a large kitchen or restaurant. You must have sufficient knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, for safe handling in a large kitchen. Good computer skills and knowledge of the programs used in the work are meritorious. Kitchen work is physically demanding and sometimes heavy, requiring good physical fitness.

You have the ability to adapt your work to the needs of the operation and have a holistic view of the assignment. You follow the dietary policy guidelines and current routines and work towards set goals. You are professional, service-oriented, and responsive to guests' wishes. You are accustomed to organizing and performing your work both independently and in collaboration with others, actively contributing to a good work climate and to knowledge exchange both within the work group and with other professional groups.

Holiday service means that work is performed according to the current schedule.
