Roknäs preschool kitchen is a final preparation kitchen that serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks to the preschool's 7 departments, totaling approximately 110-120 preschool children and staff. Five of the departments eat their meals in the common dining hall, and two departments receive their meals served on a cart. Two people work in the kitchen: one full-time (this position) and one person at 56.25 %.

We are looking for you who enjoy being creative, providing good service, having good collaboration skills, and have previous experience working in a kitchen.

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities include final preparation and serving of the day's various lunch options, as well as preparing and serving breakfast and snacks in accordance with the Meal Service menu. Additionally, you will prepare a varied and seasonally adjusted salad buffet, side dishes, and alternatives adapted for children requiring special diets. You are responsible for safe food handling, self-control, good hygiene, as well as dishwashing and cleaning in the kitchen. Furthermore, the role involves ordering food from the production kitchen and ordering goods via the municipality's e-commerce system; in addition to food and dairy products, this includes cleaning supplies, disposable materials, chemicals, etc. Current agreements must be followed.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have experience working in a kitchen.

You have a restaurant education at the upper secondary level or equivalent education deemed suitable by the employer, and/or documented experience as a cook or meal service personnel in a large kitchen or restaurant. Sufficient knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is required for safe handling in a large kitchen. Good computer skills and knowledge of the programs used in the work are meritorious, as is experience with cleaning. Kitchen work is physically demanding and sometimes heavy, requiring good physical fitness.

In daily work, there is dialogue with both educators and children; therefore, a good attitude towards people is significant.

Temporary position with start date by agreement and until November 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

Summer job Monday–Friday, full-time equivalent 40 hours/week. A summer job means work is performed according to the current schedule.

Employment at the Meal Service requires an extract from the Police's criminal record.
