Södertörns University's Student Services Department is seeking an Administrative Case Handler for Disciplinary Matters

The Student Services Department monitors the external environment and drives development at the university on issues within the department's areas of responsibility, while also contributing to other operational developments. In addition to handling cases, the department provides expert knowledge, guidance, and service to faculties and administration, as well as to students, before, during, and after their studies.

At the Student Services Department, we work with active employee participation. This means you are expected to contribute to the joint development of the university and the department. The working methods and case handling within the work area are in a developmental phase. You will be part of a small work group that has a close and well-developed collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities focus heavily on handling student-related disciplinary matters. The tasks include, with great accuracy, independence, and efficiency, being responsible for the handling and investigation of cases, which involves applying and interpreting regulations. There are also elements of guiding students, teachers, the student union, and other staff in student rights matters.

Qualifications

  • An academic education including law, or other higher education studies combined with current practical experience in authority-based case handling
  • Very good ability to work independently, coordinate, prioritize, and inform
  • High ability to maintain focus even during periods of high workload and with parallel processes running simultaneously
  • Very good collaboration and communication skills
  • Very good ability to express oneself well in both speech and writing in Swedish
  • Good ability to express oneself well in speech and writing in English
  • Very good ability to comprehend text in English
  • Very good digital skills with experience working in various programs and systems

Meritorious

  • Experience in similar tasks in an academic environment or other qualified case handling experience deemed equivalent

You are responsible, secure, meticulous, and have a service-oriented approach. You enjoy administrative work and have both courage and good judgment. You should be able to adopt the perspectives of different groups, such as a student perspective and an employee perspective.

Employment

The position is a fixed-term contract until June 15, 2027, and is full-time. Start date August 10, 2026, or by agreement. We want your application no later than June 17, 2026.
