The Urban Environment Administration has overall responsibility for the city's public spaces and collective accessibility. We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 900 people work at the administration.

The Urban Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg Municipality. Together, we work to create conditions for functional infrastructure, quality housing and premises, an inviting public environment, and strive to make the city sustainable from all perspectives.

Job Responsibilities

The Green Operations area works with the maintenance and upkeep of the city's parks, playgrounds, outdoor gyms, street trees, green areas, etc. We also manage outdoor environments at schools, special housing facilities, and outdoor areas at cultural buildings.

Within the Green Operations area, we perform, among other things, inspections of playgrounds. We also have a playground group responsible for various repair and maintenance tasks on behalf of our own administration as well as other administrations and companies within the city. The main task for the group and their services is to inspect, control, maintain, and repair playground equipment and fall surfaces. There may also be minor construction works such as paving and stone setting, carpentry work, and installation of new playground equipment. We also handle banner installation.

The role includes the opportunity to participate in our winter readiness team.

You must be able to prove that you have at least 3 years of professional experience within ground and playground environments.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a high school education with a focus on construction and civil engineering/horticulture, or alternatively, longer professional experience assessed as equivalent. You must have at least 3 years of experience working within the field of ground and playground environments.

Required:

• High school education in construction and civil engineering/horticulture or other education/experience assessed as equivalent
• At least 3 years of professional experience within ground and playground environments
• Good computer skills and good knowledge of the Office package
• Category B driver's license is required

Meritorious requirements:

• Category BE driver's license
• Experience with inspection, maintenance, and repair of playground equipment and fall surfaces
• Experience with minor construction works such as paving and stone setting, carpentry work, and installation of playground equipment

Problem-solving skills are an important part of the work, along with a commitment to developing the assignment and operations. We see that you are engaged, flexible, and meticulous. It is important to be team-oriented and able to work both independently and in a group, as well as being solution-oriented. Great emphasis is placed on social competence.
