Here you will find approximately 310 curious students who thrive and develop together with around 45 skilled teachers in both school and leisure time activities.

If you are new to the profession, Örnsköldsvik Municipality offers an induction program for new teachers. This means that during your first year, you will be assigned a mentor—an experienced teacher with the same subject qualifications who can guide and support you.

Responsibilities

You will teach Swedish, Social Studies (SO), and Physical Education and Health in grades 4–6. You will have overall responsibility for the student group and manage the associated documentation and contacts. Communication and collaboration with guardians is an important part of the role. The assignment involves planning, implementing, and following up on teaching together with a work team.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a teaching degree and qualifications for grades 4–6 in Swedish, Social Studies subjects, and Physical Education and Health.

We seek someone who enjoys challenges and thinking outside the box, and who sees differences and diversity as a foundation for learning and development. You are a secure adult and a clear leader in the classroom. Being a role model and creating a positive atmosphere in the student group and work team is second nature to you.

We would appreciate it if you have experience leading group processes, the ability to create structure, and the skill to adapt teaching based on the needs of the group and individuals. You are receptive, responsible, engaged, and creative.

We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.

Some positions in our municipality are classified for security reasons, so a security check may be conducted. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
