Geneskolan is Örnsköldsvik Municipality's largest comprehensive school, with approximately 400 students distributed across 16 classes.

The school has numerous subject colleagues to collaborate with. If you are new to your profession, Örnsköldsvik Municipality offers an induction program for new teachers, which means you will have a mentor during your first year. Your mentor is an experienced teacher with the same or a closely related subject qualification who can guide and support you.

Responsibilities

You will teach Swedish and English in grades 7–9 and handle the documentation and contacts that this entails. The role involves planning, implementing, and following up on teaching. Contact and collaboration with guardians is an important part of the job.

You will be part of a work team. There may also be a mentoring role in a class.

Depending on experience, competence, and qualifications, a special education teacher role and/or similar duties may also be relevant.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a teaching degree and subject qualification in Swedish and English. Other subject combinations may also be relevant, so do not hesitate to apply even if you do not have qualifications in all requested subjects.

Experience/competence as a special education teacher is an advantage.

About the position

The position is a permanent full-time (100%) employment starting August 12, 2026, or as agreed. 80% may also be an option.

In connection with the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. For some positions, a presentation of extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal register is required. We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.

In our municipality, a number of positions are classified for security, so security clearance may be required. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
