We are looking for an advisor who wants to help drive our work to develop and establish FMV's role and direction as the Defence Materiel Administration. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop and use your skills where they truly make a difference. Do you want to conduct investigations and qualified analyses within areas such as the development of the defence market, supply security, and production capacity that make Sweden and the world safer? Then you might be the person we are looking for.

About the position

As an advisor in the Strategy, Supply Security, and Readiness unit, you will work with cross-agency strategic work, handling government assignments, investigations, and qualified analyses. The unit is responsible for handling requests from the Government Offices, managing strategic issues regarding supply security, production capacity, and economic security, as well as coordinating efforts to strengthen FMV's role as the Defence Materiel Administration.

In this role, you will contribute to leading, driving, and developing FMV's overall direction, ambition, and mandate within the unit's areas of responsibility, both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. Together with others, you will be responsible for preparing, prioritizing, and proposing management decisions and stances within the framework of FMV's mandate, as well as reporting on status and challenges. The role may also involve participating in and leading working groups and cross-agency collaborations.

You will work in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment with high expectations from both the agency management and the Government Offices, where your work directly contributes to making Sweden and the world safer. The position is located in Stockholm.

About you

We are looking for you who have an academic degree (minimum 3 years) in political science, economics, law, social sciences, or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent. You have several years of relevant professional experience related to the content of the position, such as developing qualified analyses and investigations, conducting investigation assignments, and working closely with management (preparing cases, steering and directing operations, internal and external collaboration, and guiding core activities).

To succeed in the role, it is also necessary that you have experience in preparing reports and decision support documents, as well as conducting and leading strategic and analytical work, including the preparation, implementation, and presentation of qualified analyses and decision support documents. The position also requires experience in conducting and leading change management, as well as experience in leading, planning, and following up operations against established goals.

A basic requirement is also that you have very good skills in expressing yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English, as well as good knowledge of MS Office.

It is meritorious if you have experience in translating government directives within a state agency, experience working in politically governed operations that has given you a good understanding of political work and decision-making processes (e.g., Government Offices), and experience in collaboration between agencies at a high level. We also view it positively if you have experience in providing agency management with material for decisions and reports. If you have previous experience working at FMV or another organization operating in the defence sector, we also see this as an advantage. It is also meritorious if you have experience using AI for efficiency and analysis.

Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds and experiences and are looking for you who have good self-insight and the ability to think strategically. We also see that you collaborate well with others and have very good skills in building and maintaining relationships, both with internal and external parties. To succeed in the role, you are also goal- and result-oriented with good ability to maintain focus and perform even under pressure, and you have the ability to handle both short and long deadlines. You also have good skills in analyzing and solving complex problems.
