Årsunda School is located approximately 15 km south of Sandviken, beautifully situated by Lake Storsjön. The proximity to nature is utilized in teaching. The school is a grades F-6 school with approximately 125 students and has been newly renovated both inside and out.

Job Description

We are looking for a special needs teacher who easily captures students' curiosity and desire to learn, and who has the ability to build good relationships. As a special needs teacher, you work closely with students and teachers to increase goal achievement. You use pedagogical strategies to meet students' needs and strengthen their knowledge acquisition.

You contribute by:

  • Initiating early support measures, analyzing, and participating in removing obstacles and challenges in the learning environment for students and groups.
  • Serving as a qualified conversation partner and advisor to work teams/teachers regarding special education based on, for example, screening results.
  • Conducting or participating in the assessment of students' need for special support.
  • Developing action plans together with teachers by analyzing learning environments where the student receives instruction.
  • Investigating reading and writing difficulties as well as mathematics difficulties.
  • Working in close cooperation with the teacher to plan and carry out classroom-based special education.
  • Collaborating with guardians of students in need of special support regarding learning and development.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of special needs teacher, it is important to have pedagogical insight and understanding of how people learn and what different prerequisites exist. The role requires flexibility and the ability to see opportunities in change. Close collaboration with colleagues is central, as is the ability to analyze and solve complex pedagogical challenges.

We are looking for you who have a genuine commitment to students' learning and who enjoy working in teams. The ability to create good relationships and communicate in a listening manner is crucial. You also need to have an analytical eye to identify needs and develop solutions that strengthen teaching.

For the position, the following are required:

  • Special Needs Teacher Certification.
  • Good proficiency in Swedish, both oral and written.
  • Good knowledge of the primary school's steering documents.

Meritorious is good digital competence and experience in using digital tools.
