Sundsvall Gymnasium/Västermalm is an attractive and centrally located school; currently, over 1,000 students have chosen to complete their upper secondary education with us! Västermalm Gymnasium offers 8 programs: Natural Science, International Baccalaureate, Technology, Construction and Management, Vehicle, Industrial Technology, Electrical and Energy, and Care and Nursing.

Västermalm also offers upper secondary engineering education! The Västermalm school unit also includes adapted upper secondary school and individual alternatives. We have excellent, purpose-built facilities and great opportunities.

We are now looking for an engaged and knowledgeable upper secondary teacher for the Electrical and Energy program with a focus on automation, who wants to become part of our team! How you contribute as a teacher

The position includes teaching in vocational courses within the Electrical and Energy program, automation. You will be part of the Electrical and Energy team together with other teachers in the program and will also serve as a mentor for our students. Your duties include, among other things, working with APL (workplace-based learning) within the program.

Your competence and experience

Teacher eligibility is a requirement for permanent employment. It is meritorious to have pedagogical education or a teaching degree, or alternatively, to complete a pedagogical education. We would like you to have long professional experience from the electrical and energy industry. To succeed in the role, you need to have good pedagogical skills and a positive attitude. You should be flexible, open, and have good collaboration skills.

You also need to have good ability to structure and document your work, as well as be flexible in meetings with students, guardians, and colleagues. You should be positive, engaged, and passionate about the students' development both academically and as individuals. Furthermore, you should be a driving force in the work to develop an accessible learning environment and inclusive working methods, as well as in the development and implementation of value-creating working methods related to upper secondary school.

You should be able and willing to work actively to increase collaboration both within the program and with external stakeholders. You need to be good at collaborating and have a genuine interest in students reaching their and the education's goals. We place great importance on personal suitability.
