Why You Are Important
Our client is strengthening its planning capabilities and is now looking for a Master Planning Lead who wants to help build something that truly lasts. This is a role with a clear mandate to shape how the company plans at the tactical level, using the master plan as the hub and decision support as the tool.
The assignment involves creating a data-driven foundation to stand on and ensuring that the MPS (Master Production Schedule) is the living and credible steering document it is meant to be. Few roles offer this combination of analytical depth, operational proximity, and real influence.
About the Company
Our client is an established, privately owned industrial company with operations in several production units and a turnover of over 650 MSEK. They deliver advanced injection-molded plastic systems and components to the European industry and have world-leading manufacturers among their customers. Ownership is long-term, and the culture is characterized by a genuine interest in doing things better.
Our Culture
The company is building a culture that is not satisfied with the status quo. Employees are encouraged to think for themselves, think new, and think long-term. Challenging the established order is not a project or an initiative; it is the way they work every day. With respect, engagement, and responsibility, and always with the customer in focus.
Focus of Your Role
The core of the assignment is to own and develop the planning function. This means that the MPS is always updated, realistic, and grounded in actual conditions, and that it is used as an active steering instrument rather than a document that lives its own life.
This involves analyzing capacity and utilization, aligning with customer forecasts and purchasing needs, and identifying risks and imbalances before they become problems. In this work, this person also drives the S&OP process and ensures that the right decisions are made in the right forum, with the right data.
Concretely, the role involves driving the master planning and ensuring that the MPS reflects reality, keeping capacity, materials, and staffing together in a coherent planning perspective, leading S&OP and facilitating cross-functional planning meetings, building scenarios and forecasts that support business decision-making, tracking forecast accuracy, plan stability, and service level, as well as ensuring high quality in master data and managing EDI flows and customer forecasts.
If We Could Wish
We are looking for you who have many years of experience in master planning or tactical planning in manufacturing industry. You understand how an MPS is built up, how it connects with customer orders, capacity, and material flow, and you know what is required for it to be reliable over time.
You are analytical and structured, accustomed to working data-driven in ERP and planning environments, and have experience with capacity planning and scenario work. You also have a sense of how the master plan needs to be communicated and anchored in an organization with multiple functions and interests. Experience from companies with multiple production units is meritorious, as is knowledge of Power BI or similar analysis tools.
As a person, you are confident, communicative, and used to creating alignment in cross-functional contexts. You can explain the consequences of planning decisions in a way that lands, and you enjoy taking responsibility for the whole.
Is This the Right Place for You?
This is a role for someone who wants to truly own their process and make a real difference in how an industrial company steers its business forward. As Master Planning Lead, you get the mandate to shape the master planning process from the ground up, create the stability and foresight the company needs, and be the person who holds the tactical perspective together.
This is a role that suits you if you thrive being close to operations, enjoy solving complex planning issues, and want room to develop and improve in the long term.
