We are now looking for a Land Surveyor for a fixed-term position focusing on the maintenance and management of the municipality's geodata. With us, you will have a broad and varied role in creating and quality-assuring the geographic information that forms the basis for the entire municipality's urban planning process. The role offers you a fantastic opportunity to work broadly within municipal mapping activities and gain valuable experience. You will become part of the Urban Planning Department, where we work closely together in a flat hierarchy and solution-oriented environment. The Mapping Unit consists of six people who together drive and develop the municipality's mapping and GIS operations, and we also collaborate with the Högland Association through a shared GIS platform.

Job Description

In this role, you will work broadly with varied tasks both in the field and in the office. A central part of your work is maintaining and quality-assuring the municipality's map databases. You will also work with surveying and setting out, which includes everything from residential construction to technical facilities and infrastructure. The work involves close contact with project managers, contractors, and colleagues within various municipal operations.

You will step directly into our ongoing operations where the work is varied, involves fieldwork in different environments, and plays a significant role in ensuring that the municipality's geographic information is accurate and up-to-date. The role also involves a large element of communication, where you continuously coordinate information, create clarity in assignments, and maintain good dialogue with both internal and external partners.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a Land Surveyor, have a background in GIS/geodata, or have corresponding experience. Since this is a fixed-term position, we would appreciate it if you could quickly get up to speed with new systems and become self-sufficient in daily work. You have good computer skills, an interest in digital tools, and experience with map databases.

Experience with Topocad and Trimble equipment is required, as well as previous work with the maintenance of primary maps or geodata. You master Swedish in both speech and writing and have a category B driver's license for manual transmission. The work involves fieldwork in varying terrain, which you need to be comfortable with.

You have your own drive, are a quick learner, and take initiative to move your tasks forward. You are solution-oriented, flexible, and confident in meeting both colleagues and external actors. Good communication skills are crucial in this role, as you have daily contact with many different functions. You need to be able to explain technical prerequisites in a clear and pedagogical way and actively contribute to good dialogue and efficient collaboration. You work meticulously and see opportunities for improvements in both work methods and processes.
