At our newly opened dementia care facility on Gotlandsgatan, you will have the opportunity to help shape the operations from the very beginning. You will work together with your new colleagues and in close collaboration with the other specialist nursing assistant. Here you will have a significant role where your skills, engagement, and ideas contribute to developing both the care and your colleagues.

Your responsibilities

The core of the assignment is to strengthen and develop colleagues by sharing your specialist competence, providing guidance in daily routines, and contributing to high-quality care. You combine practical nursing work with tasks requiring in-depth knowledge in dementia care. As a pedagogical role model, you support both colleagues and new employees, lead educational initiatives, and actively contribute to the facility's quality work, including through the BPSD registry and the development of working methods.

The role involves close collaboration with nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists, as well as contact with relatives and participation in the move-in process for new residents. You work person-centred and serve as a dedicated care contact, focusing on creating security, participation, and a meaningful daily life for each individual. A key part of the assignment is to ensure that knowledge is applied in practice: in the meeting with the individual, in the team's planning, and in the daily cooperation at the home.

The position involves day, evening, and weekend work with working hours between 07:00–22:00.

Your qualifications

You are educated as a specialist nursing assistant (specialistundersköterska), preferably with a focus on dementia or another relevant specialization, and have experience working in dementia care. You are confident in your professional role, have a professional and pedagogical approach to interaction, and enjoy collaborating with different professions to create the best possible support and care.

You have knowledge of BPSD (Behaviours Psychological and Symptoms of Dementia) and see the value of person-centred working methods, quality, and development in daily work. Experience in supervision or supporting and guiding colleagues within the healthcare profession is viewed positively.

Since we are building the operations from scratch, it is important that you thrive in a changing environment and see opportunities in development and change. You are structured, value documentation and common working methods, and have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Before you can be employed, you must present a clean extract from the police's criminal record register.

In connection with the interview, you must prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of personal status together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
