Angeredsgymnasiet is a upper secondary school offering both national and introductory programs, as well as a National Gymnasium (Riksgymnasiet) for students with physical disabilities. Responsibilities

The National Gymnasium consists of three units: school, habilitation, and student residence. As a student assistant at the school, your role is to assist students with physical disabilities in completing their upper secondary studies. This involves providing support such as structural assistance, writing and reading help, support during transfers, lifting, training, care, as well as help during meal times, study visits, and internships. Students attend classes in both small and large groups at Angeredsgymnasiet and at other municipal upper secondary schools in Gothenburg.

As a student assistant, you will collaborate closely with teachers to create an accessible learning environment for the students. We use clear pedagogy (tydliggörande pedagogik) as our pedagogical approach, and in your role as a student assistant, you will work with clarity and structure during lessons, breaks, and so on. As a student assistant, you will also collaborate extensively with the habilitation and student residence units.

At the National Gymnasium, you work together with other student assistants around a specific grade level. You receive support from a special assistant and an IT pedagogue to learn working methods and assistive devices. You meet several students during the week and work in a team with other professionals at the National Gymnasium to ensure the students reach their goals.

Qualifications

A high school diploma is required. A degree from the Care and Nursing Program or the Child and Youth Program is particularly advantageous. You have previous experience working with individuals with severe physical disabilities, neuropsychiatric diagnoses, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).

Essential personal qualities include flexibility, creativity, initiative, and excellent teamwork skills. You have the ability to inspire, motivate, and spread positive energy in your work, and you prefer to focus on solutions rather than problems. You possess strong communication and social skills, and as a person, you are driven, goal-oriented, and adapt easily to new situations and tasks.

You have good physical fitness and mobility, the ability to handle heavy lifting, and the capacity to participate in students' activities. You have good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good experience using computers as a work tool.
