The Social Services Office is now looking for an experienced and engaged Financial Controller who wants to take a key role in developing and ensuring stable, sustainable, and fair financial management. You will report to the Head of Finance and become a central function in the Social Services Office's financial work – where quality, analysis, and collaboration are in focus.

Job Description

As a Financial Controller, you are responsible for driving and developing financial, planning, and follow-up processes in accordance with the municipality's guidelines. The role combines strategic work with qualified analysis and close operational support to managers.

You collaborate closely with the municipality's central finance department and contribute to uniform working methods, correct reporting, and continuous improvement of financial processes.

Your Main Responsibilities

In the role of Financial Controller, you will among other things:

• Have overall responsibility for budget, forecast, and follow-up processes within the Social Services Office.
• Analyze and report financial data such as budgets, forecasts, results, and deviations.
• Act as qualified support and sounding board to managers in their financial responsibilities.
• Identify deviations and develop action plans and decision-making materials.
• Contribute to the preparation of forecasts for both revenues and costs.
• Drive and initiate development work within financial management, focusing on sustainable budgets, accurate forecasts, and fair reporting.
• Delegate and coordinate tasks for accounting economists and supervise project economists.
• Be responsible for the budget and forecasting system, including administration and user training.
• Conduct in-depth financial analyses and present clear recommendations to management and operations.

Qualifications:

• University education in economics or other relevant education.
• Several years of experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, follow-up, and final accounts.
• Very good analytical skills and a careful, methodical working approach.
• Good experience working with key figures, statistics, and financial analyses.
• Ability to communicate financial relationships in a clear and pedagogical manner, both orally and in writing.
• Independence and ability to prioritize in a complex and sometimes fast-paced environment.
• Experience handling ad hoc questions and delivering quality.

You are solution-oriented, engaged, and development-focused, with a structured and proactive working approach where you take clear responsibility for your assignment. You thrive in collaboration with others and are confident in working with many different stakeholders, while being pedagogical and unpretentious in how you support and guide colleagues in financial matters.
