The Park and Facilities Unit is part of the Property operations within the Service Administration. The unit has approximately 30 employees responsible for supervision, maintenance, upkeep, and development of the internal and external environment in Ale, such as the municipality's parks, schoolyards, playgrounds, nature and green areas, bathing spots, as well as municipal sports, leisure, and cultural facilities. The unit has a broad mandate with varying tasks. We are brave and constantly take new steps to increase customer benefit and put our customers first. Responsibilities

As a Shift Manager (Driftledare), you manage the unit's daily work and are responsible for prioritizing tasks, scheduling, and seasonal planning. You continuously monitor and evaluate the operations' results based on the unit's goals, assignments, and activities.

You plan and lead the unit's operational meetings and ensure that employees in the work group continuously receive relevant, overarching information at the municipal, operational, and unit levels to maintain the goal of a high level of collegial participation, influence, and transparency.

In the role of Shift Manager for parks and facilities, you work in broad collaboration with colleagues in the operations and maintenance and local supply units within property operations, as well as other units within the service administration. You also collaborate with functions within community planning such as water and sewage, waste management, as well as planning and development.

Within the unit, we place great emphasis on Ale Municipality's work with continuous improvement. As a Shift Manager, you actively work on efficiencies such as digitalization and robotics, as well as simplifying and improving work processes. As one of the unit's two Shift Managers, you report to the Unit Manager and are part of the unit's administrative resources consisting of a coordinator, administrator, and park engineer.

Together with the Unit Manager, you work with investments, procurements, plans, investigations, and projects, and contribute to the unit's overall development. You actively participate in quality assurance, follow-up, and the development of the unit's key figures and operational metrics. The responsibilities include case and comment handling and ongoing contact with municipal residents and other clients.

Your tasks as a Shift Manager have a wide scope and flexibility and will require a balance between administrative duties and operational work. Working hours for the position are normally scheduled on weekdays, but evening and weekend work may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university degree, higher education, or vocational engineering degree, or alternatively knowledge acquired through long experience in park, ground, and/or facility work that the employer considers equivalent.

You should have experience working in operational and/or supervisory roles. You should be well acquainted with relevant laws and regulations in the industry. It is highly meritorious if you have a mix of practical and theoretical knowledge.

You must have at least a Category B driver's license. It is meritorious to have wheel loader and/or other vehicle licenses related to work in park or facility maintenance.

We want you to be able to work in a structured manner, be team-oriented, and quality- and result-conscious. You are also proactive, clear, goal-oriented, and responsible, and good at utilizing different competencies within the work group.

Since the work takes place in daily operations, the pace and tasks change quickly; therefore, you should have a personality that appreciates this type of work style and can adapt, steer, and lead as needed.

It is meritorious if you possess knowledge regarding the principal's responsibility for public spaces.
