What will you be working with?
As a statistician, you will:
- Perform statistical analyses.
- Write and review reports.
In addition, other standard tasks for investigators at the Agency are included, such as handling unit administration and participating in meetings.
Who are we looking for?
Requirements for the position:
- Completed university education at the master's level with a focus on statistics, mathematical statistics, or biostatistics.
- At least two years of experience with independent programming in R, gained after completing studies.
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing.
In addition, we consider the following competencies, skills, and experiences important for you to thrive with us:
Great emphasis is placed on:
- At least two years of experience in statistical analysis work within biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, or medical research, gained after completing studies.
- Good knowledge of statistical methods for epidemiology and public health.
- Personal qualities such as good teamwork skills, responsibility, and analytical ability. You have a holistic perspective and a welcoming attitude.
Emphasis is placed on:
- At least one year of experience working at a government agency.
- Experience in statistical work in interdisciplinary contexts.
- A doctoral degree in statistics, mathematical statistics, biostatistics, or another area relevant to the position.
Emphasis is also placed on:
- Experience working with Swedish health data registers.
- Experience working with structured documentation and version control systems such as Git.
What does the unit do?
The Analysis Unit works with analyses and forecasts to contribute to more effective public health work. The unit is responsible for developing methods and providing support in statistics, health economics, and modeling.

About the employment
You will be employed as an investigator with placement at our office in Solna or Östersund. The position is a fixed-term contract (vicar) on a full-time basis until 2027-01-15. The start date is as soon as possible according to agreement.
As an employee of the Public Health Agency of Sweden, you may be assigned to wartime duties. Some positions are classified security clearances where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. Security clearance will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
There may be an opportunity at the Agency to conclude an agreement on remote work up to 40 percent of your working time.
