In this role, you will be part of a team that ensures that the production and delivery of infrastructure meet the needs of the Swedish Armed Forces.
About the Unit
HQ FST SUPPORT INFRA constitutes the Swedish Armed Forces' central infrastructure organization, responsible for leading the infrastructure area within the Swedish Armed Forces. The Planning Section is one of six sections within the Defense Staff's Infrastructure Department.
The Planning Section is responsible for strategically guiding and developing the Swedish Armed Forces' accommodation supply. We create the conditions for the infrastructure area to deliver the right things, in the right place, and at the right time.
About the Position
We are now looking for a link between the infrastructure area and unit operations, with an understanding of influencing factors and broad experience of the Swedish Armed Forces.
As part of a competent and engaged work team, you will work with cross-agency projects, operational planning, and project management, including investment planning.
You will contribute to and be responsible for compiling and preparing responses to government assignments, consultations, investigations, and internal products related to the infrastructure organization's involvement in military-strategic and operational planning within the Defense Staff.
You will also support the implementation of NATO methods and processes within the infrastructure process. You will lead and participate in both larger and smaller projects as a representative of the Infrastructure Department.
Qualifications
- An academic education with a focus on contingency planning, protection technology, or other education or experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
- At least 3 years of current and relevant experience in leading and participating in larger projects related to vital societal functions, such as infrastructure, energy, or transport.
- Knowledge of and/or experience working within the defense sector.
- Experience working within total defense or civil defense.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Class B driver's license.

Merits
- Experience working at a higher staff level (regiment/air wing staff, military region staff, service branch staff, or Headquarters).
- Experience working with or within NATO at the Swedish Armed Forces or another government agency.
- Good understanding of risk and vulnerability analyses, contingency and continuity planning, and relevant regulations within the contingency area.
- Experience working with accommodation supply within a government agency or equivalent administrative organization.
- Knowledge of and/or experience from the Swedish Armed Forces' infrastructure process.
Other
Employment type: Permanent, full-time. Begins with a 6-month probationary period for those not already employed by the Swedish Armed Forces.
Work location: Stockholm. The position is civilian. Working hours: Full-time.
Travel may occur in the role.
Start date: By agreement.

The Chief of Defence and the Director General are located at Headquarters. Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both career officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, Headquarters consists of the Defense Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as Headquarters' Staff Department and independent supervision units.
An employment with us involves placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. Security screening with register check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be war-placed.
