Brå works to reduce crime and increase safety in society. Do you want to be part of this work?

Brå's task is to promote crime prevention work through development, research, statistics, and knowledge dissemination, primarily to the government and authorities within the justice system. Our office is located on Fleminggatan in central Stockholm. We currently have approximately 220 employees.

About the job

In connection with several government assignments involving knowledge compilation, information gathering, and the creation of method support materials, we are now seeking three investigators for permanent positions within the Unit for the Development of Crime Prevention Work (UBA). This may involve collaborating with others, both internally and externally, to participate in or lead work such as:

  • Creating a pedagogical structure and compiling method support materials.
  • Gathering and describing examples of crime prevention work in Sweden or internationally.
  • Compiling and describing crime prevention work across different sectors.
  • Compiling and describing experiences from pilot projects, grey literature, or research.

The materials produced are presented on our website, in reports on government assignments, at conferences, or in publications.

The target audience for our materials is usually municipalities and other actors involved in crime prevention, for example, in work related to built environments or the school system. The work involves a high degree of pedagogical communication, with a focus on writing, but also oral presentation. It also entails frequent contact with Brå's various target groups, including municipalities, the police, county administrative boards, and other actors.

Your education and experience

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has an education in social sciences, preferably with a focus on pedagogy, communication studies, criminology, public health science, or social work.
  • Has several years of experience working in or for the public sector.
  • Has experience with data collection and investigative work.
  • Has good teamwork skills.
  • Has excellent command of Swedish, both written and spoken.
  • Has a good understanding of English.

You must also have documented work experience in at least one of the following:

  • Production of knowledge and method support materials, such as educational materials, or something comparable.
  • Knowledge compilations with some form of systematic approach, such as Rapid Evidence Assessment (REA) or equivalent.
  • Development work through service design or other similar methodologies where the needs of the target group are central.

Knowledge of evidence-based crime prevention work or other work related to crime, gained through studies or work experience, is an advantage.

Your personal qualities

As a person, you communicate and collaborate easily with others, and you base your daily priorities on the goals of the work.

Great importance is attached to your personal qualities and abilities!
