About Salt & Sill

Situated on the former herring island of Klädesholmen off the coast of Tjörn, Salt & Sill is surrounded by the salty rocks and skerries of Bohuslän. We are Sweden's first floating hotel and one of the west coast's most appreciated archipelago destinations, offering a hotel, conference facilities, and a restaurant – right at the pier's edge.

Our business has been operated under its current management since the early 2000s and is characterized by a strong passion for food, people, and hospitality. The proximity to the sea and local ingredients permeates both our menus and the guest experience. We are a seasonal business with a high pace during parts of the year, where collaboration, responsibility, and engagement are crucial for the overall success.

About the position

We are now looking to strengthen our reception and conference team, starting in May/June. The position primarily involves extra work during the summer, which is our high season, with the possibility of extra work also during the autumn. Working hours vary throughout the season and are planned according to the business's needs.

How we usually describe the role

As a reception and conference host/hostess, you play a central role in the guest's experience with us. You are often the first and last person the guest meets, working closely with the hotel, conference, and other departments. The role is varied, combining hospitality, structure, and service, with a focus on creating a smooth daily flow and a personal experience for every guest.

Your responsibilities

In this role, you are responsible for receiving and welcoming our guests at the reception, handling bookings as well as check-in and check-out. You answer phones and emails, provide clear information before and during the stay, and serve as a key contact person for our conference guests. You ensure that conference rooms and common areas are in order according to agreements and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure a smooth and pleasant overall experience.

Who we think you are

We believe you have experience from reception, conference, hotel, or other service-oriented operations. You are confident in communicating in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing, and have the ability to work structured even when the pace is high. You are service-oriented, solution-focused, and thrive with responsibility. Collaboration skills, flexibility, and a professional demeanor are important parts of the role.

What you get with us

With us, you get a varied and social job in a unique archipelago environment. You become part of a family-like workplace where hospitality, collaboration, and engagement are at the center. The role offers flexibility throughout the season and the opportunity for more shifts during the summer. Staff accommodation is available, and salary is paid according to agreement.

Practical information

The employment starts in May/June. Working hours are scheduled on weekdays and weekends, during day and evening shifts.

Recruitment is ongoing, so we would appreciate it if you submitted your application as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you and creating great guest experiences together at Salt & Sill.
