Area of Operation: Medical Technology

We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough trials and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!

Our Operations

Our department consists of approximately 60 employees and is characterized by a good atmosphere and close cooperation between different professional groups within healthcare. Working in medical technology is often a challenging and exciting job that involves the procurement, maintenance, and advisory services for medical technology products, as well as the training of healthcare personnel and students. Medical Technology is certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 and operates throughout the entire Region of Uppsala.

Your Role

We are looking for an engaged and motivated employee to work with qualified medical technology tasks. You will be part of the Surgery and Optics group, where the main focus lies within the area of surgery.

The work includes both corrective and preventive maintenance of medical technology equipment. Corrective maintenance involves troubleshooting and rectifying faults, for example within imaging and video systems connected to surgical equipment.

In addition to the daily work with equipment, the group participates in procurement processes, evaluation of clinical methods, coordination of test setups, drafting of service agreements, and investigation of medical technology deviations.

An important part of the role is also ongoing contact and good cooperation with suppliers and healthcare staff, which places high demands on communication skills and computer literacy.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you with a university or civil engineering degree with a focus on medical technology, or another technical education/experience considered equivalent by the employer. You have good knowledge of Swedish and master technical English in both speech and writing. Competence and interest/experience in image and video signals, databases, servers, and wireless networks/WLAN are meritorious, as a large part of our equipment contains and/or is integrated with IT systems. A B-class driver's license is desirable as our customers are located throughout the Region.

Your Competencies

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and are looking for someone who is curious, unpretentious, good at collaborating, and who wants to contribute to our positive work climate. In your work, you need to be meticulous and responsible, as well as capable of independently planning and carrying out your tasks. The plan for the day can change quickly if situations arise, and then we solve the challenges together as a team, which is why we appreciate qualities such as flexibility.

We Offer

We offer a permanent full-time position with a start date as agreed. A probation period of up to 6 months may apply.
