Do you want to help develop tomorrow's powder materials in an innovative and international environment? Erasteel is now looking for a Development Engineer for our R&D department in Söderfors.

Your Role

As a Development Engineer, you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders and actively contribute to the development of our products and applications within powder metallurgical high-speed steel (ASP®).

Your main responsibilities:

• Drive and participate in R&D and marketing projects related to the development of ASP® and its applications
• Support the marketing and sales organization through material investigations and tool analyses
• Develop and apply knowledge within ASP applications, e.g., cutting machining and cold working
• Analyze factors affecting tool performance (surface treatment, grinding, heat treatment, microstructure)
• Support the quality function in material investigations related to customer complaints
• Contribute technical expertise to other functions within Erasteel
• Participate in knowledge building through environmental scanning, method development, and collaborations with universities and institutes

Qualifications

• Civil Engineer/Master's degree in Materials Science or a related field
• Advantageous with a PhD or experience in materials or steel research
• Experience leading development projects (planning, execution, and follow-up)
• Good Swedish and very good English in speech and writing
• Ability to work independently in a matrix organization
