The Role of Medical Technology Engineer

As a Medical Technology Engineer, you will work with maintenance, troubleshooting, technical support, and documentation of medical equipment and systems. The role covers both hardware and software, as well as associated medical IT systems. The job also involves participating in purchases, tenders, and technical projects such as installations.

You will work in close cooperation with healthcare personnel in a care-oriented environment, where dialogue, advice, and problem-solving are central parts of the job. The role also involves close collaboration with other medical technology engineers, as well as external suppliers and service organizations.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with start date by agreement. Probation period may apply.

Your Future Workplace

Medical Technology within Region Jönköping County works with and manages medical equipment through maintenance, technical consultation, and procurement. The equipment is used to treat and diagnose patients in areas such as surgery, intensive care, ophthalmology, emergency care, and ambulance services.

The department is certified according to ISO 9001:2015. In Region Jönköping County, we have approximately 45 employees within Medical Technology, of which 12 are based at Höglandssjukhuset. You will be located at Höglandssjukhuset in Eksjö and become part of a work group with good morale. Your Profile

We are looking for you who have a strong interest in technology and a desire to continuously develop your knowledge in new technical areas. You have an engineering degree or equivalent competence acquired through education and/or professional experience.

If you have experience with medical technology equipment, it is something you will benefit greatly from in the role, but it is not a requirement. A possible background could also be as an engineer from industry/business where you have worked as a service engineer/service technician, or if you are a newly graduated engineer by summer. The most important thing is that you have the willingness and ability to learn new technology, as well as an interest in continuously developing your competence through the training offered. Since medical technology equipment is often integrated with IT systems, knowledge of IT networks and the ability to learn new software is advantageous.

As a person, you are service-oriented, structured, and quality-conscious. You thrive working both independently and in teams and find it easy to collaborate with different professional groups. We value a solution-oriented approach and place great emphasis on personal suitability, technical curiosity, and a desire to develop.

Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is required for the job as the demand for communicating with healthcare personnel and documenting service efforts is high. You also need to master English to communicate with international service organizations and to complete training. As travel occurs in the role, you must have a valid driver's license (Category B).
