If you work with us, you can be sure to engage in meaningful tasks. Do you want to join our journey? Then you are warmly welcome to Österåker.

We are now investing even more, and Österåker Municipality is recruiting two (2) Readiness Coordinators for the Department of Security, Safety, and Civil Readiness.

As a Readiness Coordinator in Österåker Municipality, you will have a very important and varied role as part of the work to strengthen the municipality's ability to prevent and manage disruptions and various forms of stress in peacetime and wartime. Together, and in close collaboration with the municipality's managers and employees, the Readiness Coordinators coordinate and drive the development of crisis preparedness and civil defense in Österåker Municipality based on national assignments, political priorities, and ongoing work.

The workplace in the municipal office is well located with easy access to trains and buses, just a short walk away. If you drive, there are plenty of parking options. The workplace is also close to nature, and we offer good employee benefits and opportunities for wellness activities. You can also work remotely to the extent that the work allows and you prefer.

Your new job

The Readiness Coordinators work at the Department of Security, Safety, and Civil Readiness, together with several colleagues who have different operational focuses within the department's area of responsibility. In close collaboration with the Security Manager and the Deputy Security Manager, the Readiness Coordinators work broadly within crisis preparedness and civil defense. Examples of work include risk and vulnerability analyses, continuity management, crisis preparedness, total defense planning, and ensuring that decisions and robustness-enhancing measures are implemented in practice.

There is a lot happening in the field, which means that tasks may develop over time. The division of responsibilities between the Readiness Coordinators will be based on each individual's prerequisites, and there are good opportunities to influence the design of the work.

Ongoing projects where you play an important role include supply readiness, safety points, war organization, and coordination of voluntary organizations. You also coordinate the function "Official in Readiness" (TiB) and may, in the long term, be part of the TiB function.

The Readiness Coordinators plan and lead, among other things, training and exercises that strengthen both the organization and all of Österåker for future challenges, as well as communicating regularly with the public.

The role of Readiness Coordinator also involves developing the municipality's security protection and signal security. In the long term, the assignment may include maintaining the role of Deputy Security Protection Manager and potentially supporting work with information security.

The work is done in close collaboration with many internally and with other municipalities, authorities, and external actors. Here you have the opportunity to develop yourself, build networks, influence, and contribute to a robust society where everyone in Österåker feels safe.

The department's work is partly event-driven, and work outside regular working hours may occur, but to a small extent.

Your profile

To thrive in the role, you need to be able to work structured in a group with others, but also independently, and have a desire to develop. A high level of commitment, an unpretentious attitude, and a flexible personality are important, as well as the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others. You need to see the big picture and be able to take several perspectives into account, as well as communicate easily, expressing yourself in speech and writing adapted to the context and to different target groups.

Since the Department of Security, Safety, and Civil Readiness handles serious incidents and sensitive information of various kinds, it is required that you are a stable and stress-resistant person with high integrity.

Requirements:

  • Relevant academic education in the field, or alternatively education or experience with a direction that the municipality considers equivalent
  • Good knowledge of legislation regulating crisis preparedness in peacetime, security protection, civil defense, and heightened readiness
  • Experience working with risk and vulnerability analyses, continuity management, crisis preparedness, and civil defense
  • Easily communicate, express yourself in speech and writing adapted to the context and to different target groups
  • Valid driver's license (Category B)

Meritorious experience:

  • Work with security protection and signal security
  • Work with supply readiness
  • Work with information security according to ISO 27000 and the Cyber Security Act
  • Plan and conduct training and exercises
  • Drive and lead processes
  • Work in public operations where political goals and priorities are guiding
