We are now looking for an investigator for the Authority Unit within the Quality Unit at the Child and Education Administration in Eskilstuna Municipality. The position involves qualified authority exercise with a focus on supervision and oversight of independent preschools and schools.

About the position

At the Authority Unit, we work with assignments related to the Education Act and the home municipality's responsibility. The unit consists of a unit manager and eight investigators with different backgrounds and competencies. Your tasks include, among other things:

• Supervision of independent preschools and pedagogical care.
• Oversight of independent primary and upper secondary schools.
• Monitoring of school attendance and school coordination for placed students.
• Handling of complaints and follow-up of harassment cases.
• Other investigative assignments within preschool and school.

Here, you will work in an operation where you help create conditions for equal education and legally secure decisions.

Your responsibilities

We offer a varied and responsible job with investigative assignments at the principal level. One of your main tasks is the municipality's responsibility to carry out supervision of independent preschools and pedagogical care, which involves quality review based on current legislation and steering documents. The second main task is oversight of independent primary and upper secondary schools. Here, the focus is on analysis, follow-up, and collaboration with schools and other actors.

You also work with overarching investigative assignments within preschool and school, such as handling complaints and follow-up of harassment cases. Other areas within authority exercise may become relevant based on the operation's needs, which places demands on flexibility and a desire to develop in new assignments.

A key part of the assignment is collaboration both internally and externally. In the role, you have many contact surfaces and need to feel secure in dialogue with, for example, various authorities, principals, guardians, and other partners. Communication takes place both in meetings, via telephone, and other digital communication tools. Therefore, it is important that you are communicative, professional, and have a good ability to build trusting relationships.

Qualifications and Merits

For this position, you need to have a preschool teacher degree. You also have several years of experience and competence within municipal preschools or equivalent operations. We want you to have experience of working at a management level within preschool and have familiarity with the steering documents of the Swedish school system. Good documentation habits are a requirement. You are welcome to have previous work experience as an investigator or in similar work.
