At the Uppsala office, we are responsible for all eight municipalities in the county. Together, we work to contribute to a well-functioning labor market through support for job seekers and employers.

Job Description

As an employment mediator, you will focus on job seekers and employers, serving as a key support for them and making a difference every day. A central part of the job is to inform and communicate about the Swedish Public Employment Service's mission, services, as well as rights and obligations. The role requires curiosity and sensitivity, with the ability to make complex matters simple.

We are looking for someone who wants to work with identifying and assessing support needs for job seekers who are far from the labor market. Based on the individual's conditions, you will work with interventions within our various support areas to strengthen opportunities for employment or education.

The work takes place in close collaboration with employers, municipalities, authorities, and other partners. The role includes both physical meetings at the Employment Service's premises and external meetings with employers and collaborating actors.

Some of our new employment mediators may work with the SIUS focus area

The SIUS focus area (Special Introduction and Follow-up Support) is a program for job seekers with disabilities who need individual support to find, obtain, or keep a job. In this role, you will support both job seekers and the workplace, involving extensive and frequent contact with employers. You need to be proactive and build good business relationships.

The position is a permanent full-time employment, which may start with a six-month probationary period. The location is Uppsala.

Basic Requirements for the Position

  • Completed upper secondary education

Alternatively

  • you have been employed as an employment mediator at the Swedish Public Employment Service and are assessed to have good prerequisites for meeting today's requirements for employment mediators

And

  • At least 2 years of work experience, combined work of at least 50% over a total of 2 years
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, meaning good ability to communicate orally and in writing, as well as high reading comprehension
  • Category B driver's license

Other Merits for the Position

  • Work experience of collaboration with other actors, such as authorities, municipalities, and partners
  • Work experience of work-oriented rehabilitation for individuals with various disabilities
  • Work experience of employer contacts from sales, entrepreneurship, etc.
  • Work experience of exercising authority
