Area of Operation: Violence in Close Relationships and Sexual Violence

We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Here, something is always happening – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here you will experience both tough trials and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. We welcome your application!

Our Operations

The Area of Operation for Violence in Close Relationships and Sexual Violence (VINR S) at Akademiska Sjukhuset collaborates with the National Center for Women's Peace (NCK) at Uppsala University. NCK is a national knowledge center on men's violence against women and domestic violence, honor-related violence and oppression, sexual violence, as well as prostitution and human trafficking. NCK also provides support to victims of violence. Support for victims of violence is provided via VINR S, where the four national support lines are located: the Women's Peace Line, the Support Line for Men, the Support Line for Transgender People, and The Right to Choose. Support is also provided via the Women's Peace Clinic, a specialist clinic at Akademiska Sjukhuset for women who have been subjected to violence. This means that the operation has two principal owners.

VINR S is an operation that is growing with new assignments, both state and regional. The Project Office plays a key role at Akademiska Sjukhuset, strategically placed within the management and support functions. The assignment consists of three main parts: project management, method support, and portfolio management.

In this assignment, the work is carried out within the area of operation for violence in close relationships and sexual violence, while you have your employment at Akademiska Sjukhuset's Project Office.

Your Assignment

The VINR S area of operation has been awarded a state grant for work regarding sexual violence. The purpose is to develop and strengthen care for children and adults who have been subjected to sexual violence by preparing for or establishing clinics or centers within their own region or through cross-regional collaboration to ensure good care for persons who have been subjected to sexual violence or sexual abuse, including in digital environments. Approved project funds finance 13 sub-projects.

In this assignment, you will work partly to overall coordinate the activities included, and partly to lead some of the activities, which among other things involve:

  • Measuring knowledge of, and compliance with, existing routines within Region Uppsala.
  • Developing proposals for improved collaboration between the healthcare's various operations as well as with the police and other relevant support and collaboration actors.
  • Compiling a summary of the support provided to victims of sexual violence in Region Uppsala when seeking care after sexual assault. The focus is on describing working methods, routines, and collaboration within the region.

The purpose is to identify successful methods for effective and quality support, based on the Women's Peace Clinic's model. The report should provide a consolidated picture of the support in Region Uppsala and serve as a knowledge base for creating and establishing similar clinics in other parts of the country.

You assist with the reporting and accounting required according to the instructions for the state grant. You work together with the employees at the area of operation and report the ongoing work to the area manager.

As a project manager at Akademiska Sjukhuset's Project Office, you work in the central administration and collaborate with the hospital's management, healthcare employees, and your colleagues in the management and support functions. Many assignments involve contact with union representatives or matters handled politically.

At the office, we work activity-based, and there is an opportunity to work remotely to some extent.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a person who can quickly step in as a project manager in our operation and the specific assignment.

You have a university degree, preferably in economics or engineering, and education in project management. You have experience in independently leading larger projects and are accustomed to driving several projects in parallel. To achieve results, you are driven and goal-oriented, while also having good ability to be flexible and coordinate your work with your colleagues in the project organizations.

You are skilled at communicating and have a pedagogical ability to present and explain depending on who or whom the recipients are. You are receptive and lead, motivate, and provide others with the authority required to effectively reach common goals. A success factor for a project manager in our organization is the ability to understand complex systems and to be able to identify and solve problems.

We Offer

The position is a full-time project employment until December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension if the state grant is also granted in 2027. Start date is as soon as possible.

Region Uppsala mobilizes all permanent staff based on the needs of the total defense. This means no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime but is solely a planning measure.

This thus applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the tasks at present are not intended to mainly contain work with the aforementioned patient groups.

This recruitment is conducted entirely through Region Uppsala's efforts, and we decline phone calls from recruitment agencies and ad sales.
