Neuro Department – Seeking Three Specialist Neurologists
The Neuro Department provides specialized and highly specialized care for patients with diseases and injuries of the nervous system. We work with investigation and diagnostics as well as medical and surgical treatment of both acute and chronic neurological and neurosurgical conditions. We offer care to patients from seven regions in Central Sweden and provide national highly specialized care in certain areas to patients from all over Sweden. This complex assignment creates good conditions for our employees and operations to develop.
Within the department, more than 450 employees work across three inpatient wards, a day-care ward, a neuro-intermediate care ward, a neuro-intensive care ward, an operating department, and three outpatient clinics. Parallel to clinical activities, there is high activity in research, education, and development in close collaboration with Uppsala University. Our goal is to be nationally and internationally leading in care, research, and teaching within the neuro field.
Your Qualifications
We are currently seeking three doctors with Swedish medical licenses who are specialists in neurology. Knowledge of neuroinflammatory diseases in both the CNS and PNS is desirable, as is a focus on sleep disorders, Huntington's disease, and neuromuscular diseases such as ALS. Broad knowledge in outpatient clinic operations is also desirable, as is an interest in research and a dissertation, or having started a research project.

With clarity and communication skills combined with sensitivity, you work with both patients and colleagues across all professional categories. You actively contribute to driving and developing the neurology section forward, with a particular focus on quality, improvement work, and good accessibility for patients. You are engaged and present in the moment. You are expected to develop national and international networks with researchers and clinicians. You are open and interested in participating in and learning from the best developments in the field.
We Offer
We offer a permanent full-time position with a start date as agreed. The position includes primary on-call duties around the clock. If the applicant has back-up call competence, around-the-clock back-up call duties may become relevant, depending on the level of competence. Ward placement is included in the position. Salary according to agreement.
