Together with our partner AGVE, we are now looking for a Hardware Developer to join our headquarters in Gothenburg. This role is suitable for you with a technical background and a strong interest in hardware-oriented development, focusing on precision and problem-solving. Here, you will work in complex development environments combined with significant influence over the final product.
About the role
As a Hardware Developer, you and your team are primarily responsible for developing AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) and ensuring that our autonomous forklifts perform as expected before delivery to the end customer. You will be part of a team of four people, working closely with other technical teams within the company; automation, mechanics, and electrical engineering. The collaboration involves decisions regarding design, motor selection, motor controls, and more. You will alternate between developing programs and configurations, and then loading, testing, and optimizing these in the workshop/test environment.
> Our technical environment is built on external and internal systems and consists of, among other things, CANbus communication, SICK Flexi Soft (safety PLC), and several other software solutions. We do not manufacture standardized AGVs but plan and tailor each project to the customer's specific requirements.
Responsibilities
- Configuration of motor controls, sensors, encoders, laser scanners, safety systems, and various communication interfaces.
- Adjustment and optimization of functions (e.g., regulation of speeds, accelerations, and stop functions according to set requirements and safety standards).
- Evaluation of components and solutions.
- Troubleshooting.
We are looking for you who
- Have a university degree in automation, mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
- Have several years of work experience in hardware development.
- Have good knowledge of mechatronics, electrical engineering/electronics, and/or control theory.
- Have fluent proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
The following are considered meritorious:
- If you are a hands-on person.
- Knowledge of C++.
- Knowledge of electronics development.
To succeed in the role, you have the following personal qualities:
- Goal-oriented.
- Responsible.
- Organized.
- Helpful.
- Intellectually curious.
Our recruitment process
This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work, and AGVE's request is that all questions regarding the position are sent to Academic Work.
We apply rolling selection, and the ad may therefore be removed before the last application date if we have moved on to the selection and interview phase. The recruitment process includes two selection tests: a personality test and a cognitive ability test. The tests are a tool to find the candidate with the highest potential for the position and to promote equality, diversity, and a fair recruitment process. Read more about how we work with tests here.
