The Medicine Department is a general medicine ward with 21 inpatient beds and a day-care unit for subacute patients who receive treatment during the day and can then go home. The Medicine Department is part of the Operations Area (VO) Acute and Medicine and has approximately 270 employees. Within our VO, operations are conducted within cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonary medicine, rheumatology, gastroenterology, and neurology. On the medicine department, we treat not just a specific diagnosis but look at the whole individual.

We are in an exciting phase where we have recently moved our department to newly renovated premises that will give us the opportunity to care for more patients in both our inpatient and day-care services and develop new ways of working to create high care quality. We are working on implementing Region Skåne's Competence and Service Model, which gives you a clear structure for your learning and career opportunities within our operations.

Job Description

On the ward, we care for adults, often multi-morbid patients who mainly come from the emergency department. Diagnoses that frequently occur with us are heart failure, COPD, anemias, infections, diabetes, and cognitive impairment. With us, you will develop in working cross-professionally with the internal medicine patient at the center. You work closely with the patient in a team with, among others, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. It is important that you are secure in your role and enjoy performing daily care and tasks that include monitoring vital parameters, blood sampling, and documenting in both the journal and the collaboration system "Mina Planer" (My Plans). This is an important part of what a nursing assistant does on our ward and is crucial for the patient to receive good and safe care.

We are looking for three nursing assistants for permanent employment. The position involves day, evening, and weekend shifts. Start date from 2026-07-13 or according to agreement.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant and meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected job title, regardless of whether you studied according to the previous or current program structure. You have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is meritorious if you have studied a specialization in healthcare/emergency care and/or have a few years of experience in hospital care. For us, it is an advantage if you have previous experience working on a medicine department.

Personal qualities that we value are that you are positive, engaged, and have a desire to develop in your role as a nursing assistant. We would like you to participate in various working groups that drive the department's work forward. Furthermore, you enjoy sharing your knowledge with others and have good communication skills and are service-oriented. The role requires that you have the ability to quickly adapt and adjust to current circumstances. You are humble in your relationship with patients and colleagues and have the patient in focus. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
