The new sports hall section of the Leisure Administration is now looking for a Sports Hall Caretaker who wants to become part of our dedicated and service-oriented team.
In this role, you will work with the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of our sports halls, contributing to creating safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environments where clubs, schools, and visitors can carry out their activities.
The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probation period.
Job Responsibilities
As a Sports Hall Caretaker, you play a key role in creating a safe, functional, and pleasant environment for clubs, schools, and the general public. You will handle various tasks related to the operation, service, and maintenance of our sports halls.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing service and maintaining dialogue with clubs, schools, and residents of Malmö – Maintaining ongoing contact with clubs, school staff, and colleagues within the operations department.
- Performing minor repairs in the facilities.
- Preparing halls for various activities and events.
- Maintaining and caring for activity areas and facilities.
- Conducting deep cleaning and facility maintenance as needed.
- Submitting fault reports, writing control reports, and handling deviations.
- Conducting rounds and ensuring that halls and equipment are in good condition and meet current safety requirements.
- Managing keys and access tags, alarm routines, security systems, and SBA (Systematic Work with Fire Protection).
The position primarily involves daytime work, but scheduled evening and weekend shifts are also regular.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- A high school diploma or other education and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent.
- Category B driver's license (manual transmission).
- Experience working in sports facilities, caretaking, sports halls, school environments, or other equivalent operations.
- Previous experience in customer contact.
- Basic IT skills and the ability to handle email, fault reports, and simpler digital work orders in the Office package.
- Fluent communication in Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Education as a building caretaker, property host, or other equivalent education.
- Education in Systematic Work with Fire Protection (SBA).
- Scaffolding and lift training.
As a person, you are safety-conscious, reliable, and take responsibility for your work. With a positive and solution-focused attitude, you contribute to good collaboration and a pleasant environment. You have good communication skills, a high sense of service, and thrive in a role that requires flexibility and initiative/independence.
About the Workplace
Unit Malmö
Unit Malmö belongs to the Leisure Administration's operations department and comprises six sections with a total of approximately 90 employees and six section managers. Unit Malmö works to meet the residents of Malmö in the same way and with the same service throughout the city. We collaborate with various actors such as the club life, the events department, and the booking function with the goal of delivering high-quality service to everyone who uses or visits the Leisure Administration's facilities. School activities are also conducted at several of the facilities.
