We warmly welcome your application – we look forward to hearing from you!
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for you, our new nursing colleague who wants to work in acute care and care for geriatric patients! Working with this patient group allows you, as a nurse, to develop, as the patient's condition is often complex and needs to be addressed in conjunction with the patient's life history. You will become part of an interdisciplinary team here, working together to provide our patients with the best possible care and quality of life.
Our patients primarily come to us via the emergency department or are transferred from the hospital's medical acute care ward. As a nurse here, you are responsible for and lead the nursing care, which often consists of specific nursing interventions. These interventions can be either curative or palliative. The medical aspect is also a large part of the job and includes, in addition to medication administration and various medical-technical procedures, the ability to interpret the patient's various symptoms and parameters. We who work here are stimulated by the opportunity to work with autonomy, but we also appreciate having competent and engaged colleagues to support us within the team.
What our employees appreciate most
Many highlight the team spirit, collaboration, and support as the best aspects of the job. Here, there is care, engagement, and knowledge, and you feel welcome even as a newcomer. We enjoy being together – with laughter, community, and joy as a natural part of everyday life. About the Workplace
The ward consists of 24 care beds, 16 acute care beds, and 8 rehabilitation beds where we work in three teams. Our acute care beds admit four orthopedic patients who are transferred to Geriatrics for recovery/rehabilitation after hip surgery.
Our nurses work in teams consisting of one nurse and three nursing assistants. The interdisciplinary team consists of a nurse, doctor, nursing assistant, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, and social worker. We also have close cooperation with Rehabilitation Medicine, which is located on the same floor as Geriatrics.
Our workplace is characterized by our commitment to the elderly patient and patient safety. We have a good work environment where we help and support each other. At the end of each shift, we evaluate both patient safety and the work environment. These evaluations form the basis for us to continue maintaining and developing both patient safety and our work environment.
For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, therefore we offer you:
- A tailored introductory program to help you feel secure and confident in your professional role
- Opportunities for competence development through, for example, internal training
- A workplace for all stages of life, with the possibility of flexible working hours within certain frameworks
- Free training at our fully equipped gym
- Health allowance of 3000 SEK/year
