School Psychologist for Eskilstuna Municipality
We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and want to work preventively and health-promoting within the primary school system. With us, you get to use your competence where it does the most good, close to staff and school leadership for the sake of the students.
You will work at several primary schools with students from preschool class to year 9. Which schools you will work at has not yet been decided. The guideline is that as a school psychologist, you are responsible for approximately 1,000 students.
You will become part of an engaged and knowledgeable network group for school psychologists. You meet regularly for collegial exchange, development issues, and external supervision.
1 position(s).
Responsibilities
As a school psychologist, you contribute your psychological competence to create a safe and supportive school environment. You work closely with school staff and the student health team to support students' development, both socially and academically.
You supervise and give advice to school staff, both individually and in groups, so they can support students effectively. You also provide support to guardians, write referrals, and collaborate with external actors such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP) and Habilitation Services. If necessary, you conduct investigations, for example, in cases of suspected intellectual disability. An important part of the assignment is also to strengthen the school's competence by conducting training and other competence-building initiatives that promote students' schooling and well-being.
The work has a clear focus on preventive and health-promoting measures rather than treatment interventions. Here, you contribute perspectives, structure, and development ideas that make a difference over time.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a Swedish license as a psychologist and want to work close to the school's operations. We would like you to have worked with children and young people and be both curious and explorative. Collaboration skills are important, as you will work closely with many colleagues and different professional groups. It is meritorious if you have worked as a psychologist or school psychologist and done investigative work. If you have knowledge of NPD (neuropsychiatric disabilities) such as ADHD and autism, it is an advantage.
As a person, you are flexible and thrive in a role where you move between different operations. You are confident in yourself and have the ability to adapt to the needs of students and the school. Your empathetic and sensitive attitude enables you to build trust and meet people with respect. You take initiative, contribute ideas, and have the ability to drive issues forward with an understanding that development work takes time.
Before employment, we will ask you to show an extract from the police's criminal record.
You are warmly welcome to apply – we look forward to hearing from you!
