School Nurse for Adapted Primary School in Nyköping

The School Nurse Organization

We are now looking for a school nurse to join our organization. You will belong to the central school nurse organization and be responsible for the adapted primary school. School nurses meet monthly for professional development meetings to strive for equal student health and competence development. You will be part of a network group where school nurses meet to exchange experiences, develop working methods, and strengthen their professional role. You will also be offered supervision by a psychologist within your network group. The school nurse group is led by the Operations Manager for Student Health.

Job Responsibilities

As a school nurse, your task is to collaborate with school leadership and other student health personnel based on your medical and nursing science competence to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning.

The school nurse's duties include monitoring students' development towards knowledge goals, working health-promoting and preventive, conducting health conversations and checks according to the base program, implementing vaccination programs, organizing school doctor clinics, and performing simple healthcare interventions.

A natural part of the job is meeting with students and guardians and contributing your knowledge in pedagogical contexts.

Qualifications

For this position, you must be a licensed nurse with the eligibility to work in the medical component of student health. You have specialized education in healthcare for children and adolescents, completed the school nurse program, or trained as a district nurse. You are interested in working with preventive health care and further developing a modern school nurse role by trying new working methods and approaches. To succeed in this role, we believe you are solution-focused and stable, able to handle various situations that arise in a professional manner. We expect you to contribute to creating engagement, a professional attitude, and to take initiative to continuously develop yourself and the operations. We consider it an advantage if you have prior experience in the profession.
