About Us

The primary care and specialist care dietitians in Sörmland are organized in a dietitian organization that belongs to the County Clinic Paramedicine Sörmland. Paramedicine consists of approximately 300 employees, of whom about 45 are dietitians.

We work based on the principle that "quality comes before quantity." This means we strive to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and nutritional treatment, based on a clear prioritization order. The primary care unit and the specialist care unit each have their own dietitian manager but work in close collaboration, making us a strong organization. This creates opportunities for you to develop and change your role over time. Your direct manager is a qualified dietitian.

You will be located at the Dietitian Unit together with 14 dietitian colleagues. You will have close collaboration with all dietitians in the region, and there is always someone available to discuss with, both within and outside your specific treatment/diagnosis area.

Your Responsibilities

We are looking for a dietitian who will work with specialized inpatient care at Mälarsjukhuset. We aim to develop the dietitian's role on the acute care ward, where the dietitian has previously only acted as a consultant. The work also involves collaboration with other wards.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Meeting with patients on the care wards.
• Participating in ward rounds.
• Participating in coordination during patient discharge from the hospital.
• Prescribing enteral nutrition for inpatients.
• Recommending parenteral nutrition when necessary.
• Conducting staff training on the wards.
• Using assessment tools such as bioimpedance to measure patients' body composition, which serves as the basis for assessing malnutrition or the risk of malnutrition.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Within the Dietitian Unit, we work county-wide on routines, guidelines, patient materials, etc. The dietitians have access to nutrient calculation programs. Prescription of dietary supplements is done via the prescription portal Mediq.

Your Competence

We are looking for you who are a qualified dietitian and who are happy to share your knowledge and receive knowledge from your colleagues. The work with patients is independent, which requires that you feel confident in planning and structuring your work on your own initiative.

Employment Type
