The Social and Care Administration in Katrineholm Municipality works with support, care, and authority exercises for people at different stages of life. Job Responsibilities
As a social secretary, you work with motivating and supporting clients to become self-sufficient. The work also involves that you independently investigate, assess, and decide on the right to economic assistance, which is financial help to maintain a reasonable standard of living. There may also be work involving preventing and investigating incorrect payments (FUT).
The main task is to meet people where they are in their different life situations and help them manage to support themselves. We work according to an approach where we start from each individual's resources and prerequisites. The role involves recurring contacts with the individual as well as internal and external collaboration partners.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a social work degree or a bachelor's degree in social work with at least 7.5 credits in social law. A B driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement as the position involves home visits in Katrineholm and surrounding areas. Furthermore, you have good computer skills and good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in the Swedish language.
You should have good knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL), the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (OSL), and the social insurance system, which means that you should be able to interpret laws, regulations, and practice. It is meritorious if you have experience of work in the area of economic assistance or other authority exercises. If you have previously worked in the Treserva operation system, we see it as a big plus. Education in Motivational Interviewing (MI) is meritorious as well as if you have worked with preventing incorrect payments (FUT).
In the role, it is important to be able to write clearly, structured, and target-group adapted, as the work involves documenting investigations and communicating with both individuals and collaboration partners.
To succeed in the role, it is important that you work well with other people and collaborate in a listening and smooth way and share your knowledge and experiences. A large part of the work is about, in collaboration with other authorities, finding the right intervention for the client that leads to self-support. To thrive in the role, you need to be calm and stable and maintain control even when the pace is high in periods. You need to be able to adapt to changing circumstances as constant changes occur in our legislation and society at large. You have an unpretentious approach and can handle and prioritize among the tasks when required.

The current position is filled subject to the decisions that are required. According to the Social Services Act, extracts from the police's criminal record register must be presented by persons before they are employed to work at homes for care or housing (HVB homes), supported housing, or protected housing.
