We are now looking for an engaged employee for a combined role as a handyman and IT helper in the City of Malmö. Job Responsibilities

The position is divided into two parts:

50 percent - Handyman Service / Caretaker

The handyman service offers practical help at home to prevent falls and create a safer daily life for older residents of Malmö. The tasks are of a simple nature and do not include work that requires special competence or qualifications.

Examples of tasks:

• Changing batteries, fuses, and light bulbs
• Laying out anti-slip mats
• Securing cables
• Nailing up individual pictures
• Picking up or storing items in attic and cellar storage
• Hanging or taking down curtains
• Installing smoke alarms
• Providing advice on how to prevent fall risks at home

50 percent - IT Helper

As an IT helper, you provide support and guidance to senior residents of Malmö in the use of digital technology. The goal is to increase security, independence, and participation in digital daily life, as well as to combat digital exclusion.

Examples of tasks:

• Providing support in the use of mobile phones, tablets, and computers
• Helping with email, apps, video calls, and e-services
• Installing and updating software and equipment
• Guiding on digital security and fraud prevention
• Supporting individuals in becoming more independent in digital matters
• Holding simple presentations or training sessions in groups

The work takes place primarily in the individual's home but also in group settings such as meeting places, associations, and other activities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has completed upper secondary education
• Has a valid driver's license (Category B)
• Has good practical skills and can handle common tools, such as screwdrivers and drills.
• Has basic knowledge of IT and digital technology
• Has good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Is pedagogical, patient, and service-oriented
• Has a good attitude and enjoys working with older adults
• Can work independently and flexibly based on individual needs
• Has the ability to assess what is safe to perform and when a task needs to be referred on

Merits

• Experience working with older persons
• Experience in service, support, or pedagogical work
• Knowledge of digital security and privacy
• Experience in a similar role
• Can cycle
• Can speak Finnish

About the Workplace

The Department of Health and Prevention is responsible for initiatives within health promotion and preventive work for the residents of Malmö.
