Do you want to work with the supervision of central actors on the capital market while contributing to how AI is used in the financial sector? Have you worked with funds and securities and want to develop within analysis, supervision, and technology? We are now looking for a Junior Financial Inspector for the Department of Institute Supervision Markets at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen / FI).

About the job

The Department of Institute Supervision Markets is responsible for supervising a wide range of financial institutions, including securities companies, fund companies, trading platforms, central counterparties, and central securities depositories. The mandate also includes method development, database-based supervision, as well as analysis and policy issues.

AI is a prioritized area, and you will play an important role in developing the supervision of institutions' use of AI, while also contributing to how FI can use AI in its supervisory work.

You will lead simpler analytical efforts and mapping exercises, for example through information gathering and supervisory meetings. You will also contribute to more complex analyses together with senior colleagues. The work involves following market developments, analyzing new business models, and supporting the integration of AI-related risks into ongoing risk-based supervision.

As part of your development, you will also participate in ongoing supervision at one of the department's units. The role involves broad contact surfaces, including with supervised companies, industry organizations, and other authorities in Sweden and within the EU. Participation in international working groups may occur.

Your education and experience

We are looking for you who

• have a relevant academic degree with a focus on economics
• have work experience related to funds and securities
• have good knowledge of actors, products, and processes on the fund and securities market
• express yourself very well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you

• have knowledge of relevant financial regulations
• have experience from the industry
• have experience with processes on the fund or securities market that can be replaced by AI or adapted for digital assets
• have experience working in a public authority.
