We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation, remand prisons, and client transport.

Job Description

As an important part of the work to prevent recidivism and to work according to the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's vision "Better Out", extensive program operations are conducted within treatment for clients, both in groups and individually. Today, we have an organization for 14 program leaders as well as a position providing administrative support. We are now looking for driven Program Leaders who want to contribute to this important work towards "Better Out"!

As a program leader, you work from a cognitive approach, both in groups with a number of inmates and in individual conversations as part of the treatment. The treatment programs are manual-driven and are conducted with a focus on high quality according to the principles of evidence-based practice. They are primarily based on cognitive behavioral therapy and social learning theory.

At Skänninge Prison, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's own treatment programs directed towards addiction, violence, and crime are conducted. The combined program offering means that as a Program Leader, you will lead several different programs in parallel. The position includes administrative tasks in addition to leading programs.

The Program Leader's main tasks are to plan, lead, develop, and follow up on the program operations at the prison together with the nearest manager and other program leaders. Together with other staff, you are also responsible for security and order issues during the treatment work.

Interviews for the position are scheduled for week 25 at Skänninge Prison.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You have the ability to communicate clearly and find it easy to collaborate with other people. In stressful situations, you maintain your calm and have the ability to make correct assessments and prioritizations. You have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's conditions. You should also have a physical condition that enables you to act physically if the situation requires it.

To thrive and succeed in your assignment, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's basic values regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that humans are capable of development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute with your approach to ensure that everyone is treated equally. We place great importance on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic education with a behavioral science focus, or alternatively another education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

The following are also meritorious:

• Class B driver's license
• Approved basic training within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Approved program leader training within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Other education with a treatment focus that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
• Client-oriented work experience within social work
• Experience in treatment-oriented work
• Experience in client-oriented work in groups
• Good experience working with proven treatment methods, with a focus on CBT
• Experience working with a crime focus
• Language skills in addition to Swedish
