The Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure is responsible for issues concerning rural areas, food and primary industries, regional development, transport and infrastructure, as well as housing and urban planning.
The Legal Unit for Infrastructure and Housing is now looking for staff to work with legal analysis and legislation in the areas of transport and infrastructure.
The tasks in this role involve preparing remissions to the Council on Legislation, government bills, ministry memoranda, and legislative texts. An important task is to participate in the work of negotiating EU legislation and to some extent also in other international work.
The duties also include assisting with legal inquiries and other similar work, as well as providing information and advice on legal matters to the ministry's subject units and to the political leadership.
The work involves a high degree of collaboration with other units in the Government Offices, as well as contacts with authorities and organizations. The work may involve travel, including to Brussels.

Your background
We are looking for you who are a Court of Appeal or Administrative Court assessor or who have several years of solid experience of qualified legal work. You have broad legal competence. If you have experience of legislative work within the Government Offices or the inquiry system, it is an advantage. Good knowledge of EU law is also an advantage. Experience of legislative work in any of the areas: transport and infrastructure is also an advantage.

You can express yourself fluently in both Swedish and English, which is crucial for being able to communicate effectively in both national and international contexts. As an employee of the Government Offices, you must also have a well-developed ability to plan, prepare materials, and present qualified legal analyses. You need to have an understanding of working in a politically directed organization, which places high demands on very good judgment and high integrity. This recruitment concerns a full-time position as a legal expert, which is fixed-term (up to six years) if you are an assessor on leave from the courts, or a permanent position as a ministry secretary, if you are not an assessor, starting with a 6-month probationary period with immediate effect.
A security clearance will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
