About the Home Guard
The Home Guard Combat Force (SK Hv) operates throughout Sweden and accounts for nearly half of the Swedish Armed Forces' personnel, consisting of both employed staff and Home Guard soldiers. The combat force is experiencing strong growth. Today, the number of permanent employees is approximately 800, and the number of Home Guard soldiers is approximately 22,500 – which is to increase to 26,000 by 2030.
HR is part of the National Home Guard Staff, which is the National Home Guard Chief's staff for leading, directing, and developing unit production within the combat force. The National Home Guard Staff consists of a planning department, an implementation department, a support department, and a staff section. HR belongs to the support department, which consists of three sections: the HR section, the security and management system section, and the logistics section. The HR section consists of approximately ten employees, each with their own areas of responsibility while simultaneously supporting colleagues in the team.
Main Responsibilities
The role of HR Generalist involves organizing, planning, and monitoring planning and reporting processes within the HR function. The role requires a combination of structure, communication, and analytical and problem-solving skills.
The HR Generalist, in close collaboration with the HR Manager, is responsible for coordinating and driving the HR section's part of the SK Hv quarterly reporting to higher management; from developing guidelines to analyzing data and being responsible for the results report. The role also has coordinating responsibility for the HR section's part of SK Hv's annual implementation plan, with a focus on creating structure and stable progress in the process, for a final product with good quality and clarity in assignments.
Furthermore, the role includes responsibility for coordinating and taking minutes at SK Hv's quarterly meetings with the Swedish Armed Forces' employee organizations, as well as logistical responsibility for SK Hv's annual HR conference.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Relevant academic university degree in HR, behavioral science, personnel, or equivalent experience assessed by the employer as equivalent
- Current and relevant work experience from a large organization, preferably a government agency
- Current and relevant experience in data analysis and reporting
- Current and relevant experience in coordination and organization
- Good knowledge of Excel
- Very good knowledge of Swedish with high linguistic competence in both speech and writing

The Chief of Defence and the Director General are located at the Headquarters. The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, the Headquarters consists of the Defence Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters Staff Department and independent oversight units.
An employment with us involves placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required.
