As a Development Engineer in the Metallurgical Development department, you will lead process development projects and participate in research projects in collaboration with various research institutes. Location: Luleå.

About the role

You will become part of a team of development engineers and specialists working to improve and develop our processes and steel grades. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the production sections and covers both operational and strategic development issues. You will lead and participate in projects aimed at strengthening SSAB's position in advanced steel production.

Your main responsibilities

• Lead and participate in process development projects within steel production
• Develop new steel grades, including manufacturing specifications and follow-up of results
• Collaborate with research institutes and universities in joint development projects
• Contribute to internal forums and networks within metallurgical development
• Investigate incoming complaints

About you

• M.Sc. in Engineering with a focus on metallurgy, materials technology, or chemistry
• Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented
• Good teamwork skills and fluent in both Swedish and English
• Engaged, curious, and experienced in driving projects forward
