Job Responsibilities

In close collaboration with colleagues, authorities, businesses, and citizens, you drive issues related to urban development, comprehensive planning, detailed plans, and design matters. You get the opportunity to work with a wide variety of projects, both strategic and more detailed, which provides an exciting breadth in the role.

The core task of the role is to independently and together with others drive planning cases of varying scope and complexity according to the Planning and Building Act. You are responsible for producing detailed plans, ordering and following up on necessary investigations, and handling planning permits. Dialogue and consultation are a natural part of the work, where you also collaborate with, for example, the Swedish Land Survey (Lantmäteriet).

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a Planning Architect, Physical Planner, Planning Engineer, or Landscape Architect. Other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer may be relevant. It is meritorious to have experience of similar tasks, preferably within politically governed organizations.

Good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act is required, as well as the ability to handle GIS-based tools for the production of detailed plans and knowledge of drawing tools and illustration programs.

You have a strong commitment to community development issues and are driven by finding solutions that work in practice and contribute to long-term sustainable development. The role requires that you can handle several parallel ongoing projects and drive processes forward in a structured and pragmatic way, even when conditions change or many interests need to be weighed together.

We therefore see that you have good cooperation skills and are easy to build trusting relationships both internally and externally. You are analytical, solution-oriented, and have the ability to see the big picture while being able to translate ideas and decisions into actionable methods. The role also requires good communication skills and that you express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

A B-class driver's license is a requirement.

About the position

Permanent position, full time. Start date according to agreement.

Our workplace "Stadsporten" is located in the center of Piteå, directly adjacent to the bus station. Work is conducted in an activity-based manner with the possibility of remote work.

As a Physical Planner, you are part of the Planning Department, which is one of the department's five divisions. The Planning Department works with issues such as detailed plans, building permits, land and traffic issues, urban and rural development, mapping and GIS operations, and projects in early stages.
