Are you ready for the next step as a Financial Controller, in a role where your analysis makes a real difference?

At Kommuninvest, you will become part of a team that combines expertise in controlling, accounting, sustainability, valuation, and reporting to create secure financing for Sweden's municipalities and regions. Here, structure, public benefit, and development come together in practice.

Kommuninvest is a member-owned credit market company that offers Swedish municipal and regional groups competitive and sustainable loan financing for housing, infrastructure, schools, and hospitals, among other things. Together, we achieve better loan terms than we would individually. Since its founding in 1986, Kommuninvest has saved billions for its members in the form of lower interest rates. Currently, 297 municipalities and regions are members of this voluntary collaboration. With a total balance sheet of approximately 600 billion SEK, Kommuninvest is the largest lender to the municipal and regional sector.

The Role

As a Financial Controller at Kommuninvest, you will play a key role in developing and ensuring the quality of our financial reporting. You will work closely with colleagues in the Finance and Accounting department and collaborate with the accounting group in a company characterized by strong public benefit and a high level of competence.

You will be responsible for the development of our external regulatory reporting. The role also involves responsibility for the budgeting and forecasting process, where you will provide decision support to management and the board.

The role combines analysis, reporting, and the development of working methods within the controlling field. Here, you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise, deepen analyses, and work with colleagues to develop quality and structure in reporting. We are in an exciting development phase where you will have the opportunity to influence working methods and procedures for the future.

The position belongs to the Finance & Accounting department and the Controlling team, which consists of two other controllers. You report to the Head of Accounting & Reporting.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Develop and ensure external regulatory reporting
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting work, as well as produce analyses and decision support materials
  • Be the key person for managing data warehouses and associated control rules
  • Responsible for cost tracking, analysis, and other decision support materials in both operations and development projects
  • Analyze and monitor income statement and balance sheet items with a focus on financial interrelationships
  • Act as a bridge between controlling and accounting in complex accounting matters
  • Contribute to the development of working processes, models, and reporting routines

Qualifications

  • Academic degree in economics, at least at the bachelor's level
  • Extensive experience in qualified work within accounting, controlling, or analysis
  • Experience working in data-intensive environments and an interest in system and process development
  • Experience in monitoring income statements and balance sheets, preferably with financial elements
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Very strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets

Experience from financial operations, IFRS, external reporting, or reporting to supervisory authorities is considered an asset.

Who are you?

You thrive in analytical contexts where you get to understand relationships, dig into details, and translate analysis into clear conclusions. With a logical and structured approach, you seek answers, ask questions, and contribute to raising the quality of reporting and monitoring.

You are meticulous and responsible but also have a good sense of materiality – you know when it is important to deepen the analysis and when the focus needs to be on what makes the biggest difference.

At the same time, you are communicative and confident in your collaboration with others. The role involves many contact points, and you are good at building relationships, communicating with different target groups, and contributing to positive collaboration. For you, change is natural; you adapt quickly when conditions change and find solutions where others see obstacles.

Application Process

The last day for applications is June 12. We will review applications only after the application period has ended, so make sure your profile is updated and complete before you submit your application.

We have an automated process where some email contact and handling occurs automatically. As part of the process, you may be invited to complete work psychological tests. These are used to ensure a fair and competence-based selection process, so please keep an eye on your inbox during the recruitment period.

Through the tests, we gain a better understanding of your personal traits and problem-solving abilities, which helps us match the right person to the right role. The tests we use are Assessios MAP and Matrigma, which are scientifically developed and well-established tools for evaluating both potential and job-related competencies.

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and contribute to something that makes a real difference for Sweden's municipalities and regions?

We look forward to receiving your application and learning more about you!
