The Swedish Armed Forces is now looking for a Business Analyst for a fixed-term position at our headquarters in Stockholm. Here you will have a unique opportunity to contribute to strengthening the Swedish Armed Forces' supply readiness.

About the unit

 

You will work in the Department of Business and Supply Management at the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters, within the support unit of the Defence Staff. Our task is to support, direct, and follow up on the commercial operations of the Swedish Armed Forces, as well as to direct and follow up on the authority's supply flows. The department consists of a management team, a staff function, and four sections. As a Business Analyst, you will become part of the Strategy and Analysis Section, which comprises ten people.

About the position

 

As a Business Analyst, you will be part of the team strengthening the Swedish Armed Forces' strategy and analysis capabilities. The role involves working with various aspects of supply within and for the Swedish Armed Forces, with a focus on preparation and analysis work. You will work cross-functionally and collaborate closely with other experts in logistics, procurement, and materiel supply. To succeed in this role, you are expected to have a very good ability to absorb large amounts of information and data, and to analyze, summarize, and present this in a pedagogical and clear manner.

Main responsibilities:

  • Analyze market development and commercial conditions related to supply.
  • Compile and analyze large amounts of data.
  • Prepare decision support materials for management.
  • Contribute to the development of working methods.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and analysis materials for procurement, suppliers, and internal supply flows.
  • Identify risks, deviations, and areas for improvement in the supply chain.
  • Further develop methods for delivery supply and supplier analysis.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • An academic degree in economics, logistics, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or education/experience that the employer considers equivalent.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Very good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Very good proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in category-managed procurement.
  • Experience working with risk analysis and managing risks in supply chains.

  • Experience in supplier development or work according to principles within Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA).
  • Experience in KPI development and follow-up models.
  • Experience from supply work in larger or complex organizations.
  • Experience in supply chain management or strategic procurement work.

Other

Employment type: The position is a fixed-term parental leave substitute for thirteen (13) months.

Work location: Stockholm.

The position is a civil employment. Individual salary setting applies. Degree of employment: 100% (full-time).

Start date: September 1, 2026.

Travel in the course of duty occurs. Work samples are included in the interview process.

The Chief of Defence and the Director General are located at the Headquarters. The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, the Headquarters consists of the Defence Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters Staff Department and independent oversight units.

An employment with us involves placement in a security classification. Swedish citizenship is usually required. Security clearance with registry check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be war-placed.
