Your Role

As an Account Executive - Defence & Security, you will be the commercial spearhead towards Swedish defense customers. You will take over an established account with existing key relationships within FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration), the Swedish Armed Forces, and the Swedish defense industrial ecosystem, and will be responsible for managing, deepening, and expanding these.

Carmenta does not sell off-the-shelf products. Our offering is a niche software product (an SDK) that system integrators and defense actors build into their own platforms to visualize and analyze map images and situational awareness in defense systems. This means you need to understand what your customer's product needs to do, not just what your own product is. It is complex sales with long cycles, technical depth, and high demands for trust.

You work closely with Carmenta's Customer Success function, which supports you in technical dialogues and ensures the customer receives the appropriate level of support. Your task is to build relationships, open doors, drive the process forward, and close deals. You are the hub of the network and responsible for the health of your market and the growth of the business.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with extensive experience in sales to Swedish defense and government customers, or who has worked in these environments for a long time and now wants to take the step to the industrial side. You understand FMV's processes, the structure of the Swedish Armed Forces, and what it means to operate in a sector where decisions take time and trust is built year by year.

You don't need to be the loudest in the room. You should be the best listener. The one who gets the customer to talk about their challenges and then translates that into a concrete solution, with the right internal resources by your side. You are patient, structured, and accustomed to working with CRM tools to keep order in a complex pipeline.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Documented experience in complex B2B sales, preferably of software solutions or technical systems.
  • Good understanding of the structure, processes, and decision-making paths of the Swedish defense industry.
  • Experience with long sales cycles and formal procurement processes.
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions at different levels - from product owners and software managers to decision-makers.
  • Experience working structured with CRM tools, such as Salesforce.
  • Based in Stockholm; a suitable candidate based in Gothenburg may also be considered.

Meritorious Qualifications:

  • Background within FMV, the Swedish Armed Forces, or Swedish defense-related organizations.
  • Established network within the Swedish defense industry or government sector.
  • Experience selling to or through system integrators such as Saab, Thales, or similar.
  • Academic degree in technology, business development, or military leadership (KTH, Chalmers, or FHS).
